About Our Hospital
The history of Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital dates back to its opening in 1992. Prior to Allied, each veterinarian was responsible to cover all of their client’s emergency needs. This required most vets to be on call 24 hours a day every day of the year. Allied was created by a group of veterinarians in Tallahassee to allow for shared responsibility in serving the after-hours needs of their clients. The hospital was initially located on Thomasville Road in a 1,200 square foot building. As the business continued to grow the shareholders recognized the need to improve the facility to continue to meet the needs of Tallahassee pet owners.
Construction was completed on a state of the art 6,000 square foot facility located at 2324 Centerville Road in 2008. This has served as Allied's home since that time. In April of 2012 Allied was purchased by Dr. Mitch Potter, a board certified emergency and critical care specialist. Allied has continued to grow to become Tallahassee's first and only fully staffed 24 hour emergency and referral center.
