Jesus Lamas, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Jesus Lamas is a dedicated veterinarian whose passion for animal care began in early childhood. Born in Venezuela, he set his sights on veterinary medicine at just four years old and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2002 from Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado.
He began his career as a mixed-animal veterinarian in Venezuela, caring for both small and large animals while also owning and managing his own cattle ranch. This combination of clinical practice and hands-on livestock management gave him a strong foundation in comprehensive animal care.
In 2008, Dr. Lamas moved to the United States and continued his professional journey as a veterinary technician in several specialty and emergency hospitals across South Florida. His dedication to learning and excellence allowed him to develop extensive experience in emergency and critical care medicine.
He relocated to Tallahassee in 2012 and joined Allied as an overnight technician. Over the next decade, he applied his strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership to manage the practice while diligently completing the requirements to obtain U.S. citizenship and resume practice as a veterinarian. His commitment to high-quality patient care, teamwork, and mastery of all aspects of veterinary medicine led to his becoming a partner at a local general practice, North East Animal Hospital, in 2024.
Dr. Lamas is deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the Tallahassee community and takes great pride in supporting both pets and the families who love them.
